Personal Profile
In some ways, his Facility Management Solutions™ venture is "something completely different," and in other ways it is the next step in a career that has included over 30 years of assisting individual organizations to maximize value and cut costs through maintenance and facility planning. Prior to starting the company in 2003, Bertram served in a series of managerial roles working in a broad spectrum of industries including military, architectural, engineering, construction, environmental remediation, education and information technology. Always focusing on the planning, start-up, operation, maintenance, renovation and expansion of facilities ranging from community college districts to nuclear power plants.
As one of the founders of Engineering Visions Inc., an engineering and technical services firm specializing in new technology to service government and postal contracts, he was instrumental in the company's growth from $7 million to $40 million over an eight-year period.
Bertram's planning solutions continue to benefit individual companies throughout the lifetime of the business. In one landmark incident, his work improved an entire industry. Using his unique ability to assess all aspects of the challenges facing a facility he developed a maintenance program for Wyle Laboratories that is today the national model for ensuring that safety equipment is maintained in readiness status at nuclear power plants.
With his career experience in facility management and planning for Fortune companies and the military, Bertram decided to use his expertise in the wine industry to assist wineries in saving money through the planning of effective injury reducing production areas, hospitality rooms designed to increase sales and efficient administrative offices. With the establishment of Facility Management Solutions™ he will solve the operations, maintenance, architectural, design, engineering, construction, real estate, telecommunications integration, security and general administrative services challenges that can annually increase the cost of business operations.
Bertram holds an M.B.A. from San Diego's National University, a Master's Degree in Human Behavior from the United States International University and a Bachelors of Industrial Technology Degree from Texas State Technical Institute. A long-time resident of California, Bertram savors the surrounding wine country all year-round.
